Today’s Prophets Make Room For Lies
Portrait Of A True Prophet
|
Prophet: |
The ordinary Hebrew word for prophet is nabi, derived from a verb signifying ‘to bubble forth’ like a fountain. Hence the word means one who announces or pours forth the declarations of God. The English word comes from the Greek Prophetes, which signifies in classical Greek, one who speaks for another, specially one who speaks for a god [God], and so interprets his will to man. (Smith’s Bible Dictionary. William Smith. A Jove Book, New York, 1977, p 545.) |
A prophet is a servant of God who represents Him to mankind. God puts His Word in his/her mouth (Deuteronomy 18:18) to take to His people. A true prophet receives a communication from God Almighty through (1) God’s audible voice/direct communication; (2) a strong impression upon the spirit by the Holy Spirit; (3) a dream; (4) a vision; (5) music; or (6) angelic visitation. The vision, however, is the most common of the methods of God’s line of communication with His prophets. Whatever the mode through which the Word from God comes to the prophet, it will be a sure Word and immunity from error will not be needed.
The prophet speaks forth instructions/interpretation, warnings, or predictions of some upcoming event with true, good, and 100 percent pure words from God through one of the above six communicative means. What the prophet speaks will be CORRECT. Who is it spoken to? None other than God’s people – them that are Believers in The True God and at times to nations. The prophet instructs God’s people on the true meaning of His Word. In other words, he/she interprets God’s Word to the people and will do so without thought of being bodily or life threatened. No, this is not the same as a preacher. The Prophet also tells God’s people before hand what is going to happen at a future moment or date (prophesy) because God will not do something unless He informs His people (Amos 3:7). The Prophet tells God’s people in way of warning when they are in rebellion and must repent, which of course is done in boldness and in truth – that Elijah Spirit, it is sometimes referred to.
Prophets always, always, always come in the echo of The Law – God’s High Holy Standard – His Word. He/she will not rehearse or think through a Word from God before delivering it. Nor will they deviate from God’s Law/Word – His High Holy Standard that is immutable.
Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth ( Psalm 78:1).
Church, this means The Law is not dead – it didn’t die on Calvary; only the carnal ordinances of The Law died on Calvary. If you believe that The Law is dead, then you will never be able to hear a true prophet of God because you will have cast aside your Bible - God's Word - His Law. YOUR BIBLE IS THE LAW! YOUR BIBLE IS GOD’S WORD! YOUR BIBLE IS GOD’S HIGH HOLY STANDARD! If you have cast it all aside as having died on Calvary, then you won’t know a true prophet from "the man in the moon," and you’re an excellent candidate for accepting a false prophet with a suitcase full of lies.
True prophets are teachers of righteousness and holiness coupled with morals. What he or she speaks will line up with God’s Word and will be spoken boldly and in a stern tone very often resulting in them being persecuted by those to whom they are sent. It might be added that they are also isolated by those very same people to whom God sends them. The prophet will come forth in this manner because he or she lives very closely to God as completely surrendered vessels to Him. They are dedicated to God 100 percent. They live simple and no-nonsense lives. I’m not speaking of one appearing all holy looking – pious, but not walking upright before God; and their words hitting the ground before prospering. That’s a person with a religious spirit, or two, or three, and is a false prophet. The fruit tells the story.
True prophets of God have a zeal for Him and a hatred for sin. In other words, a true prophet has a soft heart for God. That is, he hurts over the people’s sins when God hurts; and he entreats God over the matter of the people’s sins. While agonizing in the inner man, they bear God’s grief over the people’s sins, and want to speak to the people about walking in God’s ways – His Law. They want the people to do right by God, and for that reason stand in the gap for them. The true prophet understands and shares the pain that God has regarding the sin of His people. Remember that the true prophet comes in the echo of The Law, and he/she comes with a pure word from The Lord.
Interjection: The writer believes that the true prophets of our time will be more visible at the onset of The Tribulation. I believe that the first three and one-half years of The Tribulation will be the time The Lord will bring mighty revival to His Church with warning and cautioning through what the prophets will speak forth. I also believe that through these prophets will be a mighty working of miracles, signs, and wonders as proof that they authoritatively speak for God. Remember, Moses and Elijah and the great works performed through them. Keep in mind also that it was Moses and Elijah that appeared to Christ on the Mount Transfiguration. Also, keep in mind that those two prophets, Moses and Elijah are a type and shadow of the two witnesses in Revelation 11. See First 3-1/2 Years Of The Tribulation: The Great Revival.
[the prophets of old] prophecies was a strong confirmation of the inspired messages. Only God could reveal the future as the prophets foretold it. There is not one of their prophecies which was not fulfilled or in the process of fulfillment. (The International Bible Dictionary. F.N. Peloubet, Editor. The John C. Watson Company; Philadelphia, PA, 1912, P 533)The fulfilment of their
"Office Of Prophet" Unlike The "Gift Of Prophecy"
There is a distinct difference between the Office of Prophet and the Gift of Prophecy. The gift of prophecy does not make one a prophet. Agabus was a prophet (Acts 11:28; 21:11). Some of today’s false prophets like to believe Agabus did not 100 percent prophesy Paul’s capture in Jerusalem. They want to believe Agabus missed the boat. The Scripture reads:
[Agabus] was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles (Acts 21:11).And when he
Agabus did not miss that Word from God concerning Paul being bound by the Jews at Jerusalem. True, the Jews did not directly and personally bind him themselves, but they surely were the ones that brought the accusations (Acts 21:28) against Paul that resulted in the Romans binding him. The accusers, the Jews, were in an uproar (Acts 21:30-31) and the Roman soldiers’ presence was needed thus brought on the binding of Paul at Jerusalem because the Jews were about to kill him. Agabus was "on target"; no error in his prophecy. He was not working toward becoming 100 percent, but was 100 percent. Agabus was a prophet, but the four virgin daughters of Philip, the evangelist, were not prophets; they prophesied with the gift of prophecy. A big difference between Agabus’ calling and the four virgins’ gift.

There is a distinct difference between the office of prophet and one who has the gift of prophecy.
Are There Prophets Today?
We know that there must be prophets today because the New Testament warns us of the many false prophets in the world (Mark 13:22). The false prophets in the beginning stage of The Church, including the ones of today have departed from the faith by giving in to demonic spirits that have seduced them with false dreams, visions, visitations, and revelations/false doctrines. Church, these are not "men of God" as one of the followers referred to them when speaking to me. Neither are they women of God. These people departed from the faith sometime back and God just turned them over to reprobation. They don’t speak for God! They don’t speak for God because they are "wolves in sheeps' clothing" and The Lord says to beware of them (Matthew 7:15).
Yes, these false prophets have risen and are deceiving God’s people (Matthew 24:11), but it is going to get even worse in the days ahead. Mark 13:22 says they will rise and show signs and wonders, and I don’t mean Benny Hinn. True, Hinn is a false prophet with his spirit guide(s) of healing, but what is to come will make him look like child’s play.
Church, those currently calling themselves prophets are truly false; notwithstanding, God does have prophets in this day and time but they are not as yet on the scene. They have been and are still in "The Holy Ghost’s School of Prophets" – that is, in the quiet of their dwelling places, studying God’s Word, in their prayer closet, and receiving "true" revelations from The Lord. These prophets don’t come "a dime a dozen." They are few in number. No, they are not in Kansas City with Paul Cain, they are not in Waltersboro with R.G. Stair, they are not in Colorado Springs, and nor are they in seminaries undergoing "spiritual lobotomies." They are hidden until the hour that God will break them forth, and it is very soon.
The true prophets that are hidden will come as holy and unselfish men and women of God. They will not charge The Church fees to hear the message God has sent to them. It will be free. What they will have to say will convict the spirit thus authenticating that they are correct in what they speak – truth from God. In speaking the truth from God, these modern-day prophets will have power in their words – they will speak with authority. These last days' prophets to come will have their words backed up with miracles, signs, and wonders. When they say, "I had a dream," "I had a vision," "The Lord spoke to me," or "It was impressed upon me," you will know that it comes from The Lord.
Sad to say, there will be those in The Church who will not hear the words of these prophets, but will look upon them with contempt – they will totally disregard them, and even persecute them for bringing the truth straight from God’s throne room. The prophets will grin and bear the persecution. They will take the suffering that will come by this apostate church that does not want the truth, but hunger and thirst for lies spewed out by the diviners calling themselves prophets. These true prophets will continue on in God’s glory to sound the alarm about the unrighteousness and unholiness that is in The Church. They will continue sounding the alarm to this apostate church to repent and do her first works over before the soon coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Saints, what the last days’ prophets speak will almost immediately come to pass because there is not enough time left for the world, nor The Church as we know it; so we will see their words come to pass, almost before our very own eyes. Praise God!
Should Today’s Prophets Be Judged By Old Testament Standards?
It must be made painfully clear that all of God’s Word, The Law, was not nailed to the cross. God gave Moses words to speak to Pharaoh but because Moses felt he was not eloquent in speech, his brother Aaron was the vessel speaking the prophetic Word of The Lord (Exodus 4:10-14). Aaron was Moses’ Prophet (Exodus 7:1-2). Mind you now, you never read anywhere that Aaron spoke the wrong words to Pharaoh or that what he spoke did not come to pass. Church, that was true for then, as it will always be true. If God speaks to His Prophets, it will come to pass, and it will not conflict with His High Hold Standards. God is not a man that He should lie or mislead His Prophets or His people.
(Isaiah 55:10-11).For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it
Saints, God’s Word is truth! It accomplishes what it goes out to do. God’s Word spoken through true prophets will not drop to the ground as a lie or return to Him un-accomplished, but will come to pass. It will surely prosper.
We know of the immutability of God - He changes not. However, God knew in the beginning that He would change the Old Covenant and He announced that in Genesis 49:10 and Deuteronomy 31:24-26, which reads:
And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished, That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying, Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee(Deuteronomy 31:24-26).
The Law of Moses placed in the side of the Ark, at that time contained all carnal ordinances written by the hand of Moses (not God). These ordinances could have more ordinances or laws added to the scroll and therefore could be and was affected by change. It was the parts of this law that pertained to sin atonement that was changed or nailed to the cross on Calvary.
The Law written by Moses' hand was placed in the "side" of the Ark of the Lord and could have changes made to them; and The Law (Ten Commandments – God’s High Holy Standard – His Word) written with God's own finger was put "into" the Ark of the Lord and would not be changed.
Jesus died for your sins so that you don't have to have a priest go before God with a meat offering, but you can go directly to the High Priest forever, Jesus, who is your meat offering of shed blood on Calvary. This is why He, Jesus, came and died, and it was not to abolish the whole of God's Law, but the carnal ordinances passed on in Moses' Law. To have abolished the whole of God’s Law would mean His Word forever gone – no Bible.
Hebrews 9 states that these works (offerings of meats, drinks, and divers washings) were abolished in Jesus' flesh when He was nailed to that cross. Below is a partial list of the carnal works that were crucified and are forever changed, including the Levitical Priesthood and the lack of mercy.
|
Offerings: |
Burnt · meat · peace · pollution · trespass · sin · consecration · scapegoat (Leviticus chapter 16) · perfect offering (Leviticus chapter 22) · Numbers chapters 15, 28, and 29 |
|
Divers Washings: |
Leper test (Leviticus chapters 13 and 14) · uncleanness (Leviticus chapter 15; Numbers chapter 19) |
|
Levitical Priesthood: |
Leviticus chapters 6 and 21; Numbers chapter 8 |
|
No Mercy: |
Leviticus chapter 24; Numbers chapter 35 |
|
Old Covenant: |
Circumcism of the flesh (Genesis 17:11; Leviticus 12:3) |
The law that you're not under is just some of the Law of Moses - the carnal ordinances – the animal sacrifices, and the divers washings. You are, and will forever be under God's Law – His Word – His Ten Commandments – His High Holy Standard – The Bible!
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled(Matthew 5:18).
God's Word will be fulfilled when Satan is bound in hell forever and ever, and both God The Father and The Son are dwelling in the New Jerusalem here on earth. This of course is after the Millennial Reign, and after Satan is let loose and comes to war against Christ and the camp of the Saints (Revelation 20:7-10).
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea(Revelation 21:1).
God's Law is fulfilled in Revelation 21.
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband…Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God(Revelation 21:2-3).
Church, at this point, the Son, Jesus, is already on earth and will have been for one thousand years. Revelation 21:2 and 3 are speaking of Father God; Him, whom no one can look upon or they will die. At this point, The Father can be looked upon because all mankind will be immortal, whereas during the Millennial Reign of Jesus, there were still mortal people living.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new(Revelation 21:4-5).
In Verse 4 The Lord tells us "the former things are passed away" and Matthew 5:18 tells us that God's Word will not change, but be fulfilled – not one jot or tittle will change. The passing away of the old heaven and the old earth – the death of them both, also means gone will be the jot and tittle in the Law of God; gone will be God's Law too, because it will at this point be fulfilled in total.
Saints, all of this was said for you to understand that up until this time, the jot and tittle are still in God's Law, which means, God's Law is "alive and well," always has been, and The Church must always obey it – all of it. This means that New Testament prophets are to be judged by the Old Testament criteria. Nothing’s changed except God is merciful and the false prophet will not be stoned to death, but given the opportunity to repent. This Law of God's, you are still under, because it now dwells on the fleshly tables of your heart and not on the tablets of stone (Hebrews 10:16). Now that this is settled, today’s prophets must be judged by Deuteronomy 13:1-4 as the true prophets of God have always been judged – with no room for error.
Judging The Prophet By Deuteronomy 13:1-4
If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
Don’t be so naïve in thinking that this Scripture does not apply to you because you’re not bowing before Baal, some Hindu god, or Buddha. Well, it does apply. Anytime you receive false prophets you are receiving a false god. This Scripture applies when someone comes to you with a false dream or vision that is from Satan and not God and you believe it. If you don’t reject it, that means you have bought into the lie. Beloved, you have gone after other gods because you’ve bought into the lies of today's false prophet.
Here is what the author of The Prophets In The Light Of To-Day has to say:
[God’s Word/Christianity]; (2) that his claims shall be backed by a genuinely sound and good life; (3) that that which he predicts shall come to pass. (The Prophets In The Light Of To-Day. Hill, John Godfrey. The Abingdon Press; New York. 1919, p 95.)Three conditions are here required of the prophet: (1) that his message should conform to well-known standards of ethics…
Here two significant tests are suggested: (1) Is the word which is spoken true to experience in that it makes for human well-being? (2) Is the speaker manifesting good will, that is, the will to be good and to do good? (Ibid p 97.)
Study your Bible! Judge the prophets based on Scripture.
Judging The Prophet On The Authority Of Scripture
On Rick Joyner’s web site, in his "Statement of Faith" he says one thing but does another.
We do not accept any spiritual experience as having its source in the Holy Sprit that does not have a precedent in Scripture. We do not accept any revelation, vision, dream, prophecy or discernment as truth which contradicts Scripture, or cannot be verified by it. We do not believe that any other writings have the same authority as the canon of Scripture." (Rick Joyner’s "Statement of Faith." Morning Star Publications and Ministries website at http://www.eaglestar.org.)
Yet, in his vision, "The Hordes of Hell Are Marching" wisdom is repeatedly spoken of in the masculine gender when God, in His Word, names Wisdom in the feminine gender. Nowhere in The Bible is wisdom a man.
|
Joyner Says |
Bible Says |
|
I looked into the eyes of Wisdom, and he said…
I acknowledged what Wisdom had said, and then looked past him… |
Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in
the streets: She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the
openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words…
(Proverbs 1:20-21).
Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman (Proverbs 7:4). Jesus said, …wisdom is justified of her children (Matthew 11:19). |
| That is when I recognized him as the angel, Wisdom. |
my lord is wise, according to the wisdom of an angel of
God… (II Samuel 14:20)
Note: Angels have wisdom but there is no angel from God that is named Wisdom |
Isn’t that just like Satan – wisdom a man? The complete opposite of God, and God has not changed. Remember His immutability. Is this so-called prophet someone you want to trust?
Rick Joyner again speaks the opposite of what Scripture says.
[Christians or God restores?]In Malachi 4:5-6 the Lord states, ‘Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD. And he will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the land with a curse.’ Elijah is the ministry that prepares the way for the Lord. One of the greatest things that we can do to help prepare the way for Him is to restore the hearts of the fathers to their children.
There is a kind of leadership and nurturing that only mothers can give, and there is a kind that only fathers can give. Children need both in a family. Fathers who leave their families for selfish reasons are departing from the faith in a very basic way, and their judgement will be most severe. Church leaders who do not take a stand on this truth are also denying their calling. Thank God for Promise Keepers and the other great family ministries that have been raised up because they are certainly worthy of our support…. (MEGA-TRENDS IN THE NEW MILLENNIUM by Rick Joyner Website – Morning Star Publications & Ministries at http://www.eaglestar.org/ = Articles from the Morning Star Journal (pulled from there on 7/9/00))
Malachi 4:5-6 has absolutely nothing to do with men leaving their families and Promise Keepers being the vehicle to keep them at home, or steer them back home. Those verses of Scripture have to do with revival and the turning of hearts before Christ comes for the second time. Go to the following message for revelation: First 3-1/2 Years Of The Tribulation: The Great Revival, then to the topic "Elijah’s Spirit And The Turning Of Hearts." As you read, you will learn that Malachi 4 has absolutely nothing to do with Promise Keepers, nor the restoration of run away and deadbeat dads with their children. (Rick Joyner is no doubt a false prophet.)
The False Prophet And Counterfeit Prophesies
Putting it bluntly, the false prophet is a liar. There is a lying spirit in the mouth of the false prophet (II Chronicles 18:21) because God has allowed such. Believe me, God didn’t allow that just for the heck of it. Their minds were turned over to reprobation before this because of some form of sin they refused to give up. Prior to that, these so-called prophets had to have had some darkness in their lives.
The false profit misleads God’s people with visions from their own hearts (Jeremiah 23:16,26). Since their hearts have not been with God, they prophesy by Baal (Jeremiah 2:8; 23:13) – a false god – Satan. Their prophesies are erroneous and yet they justify error in their prophesies by using I Corinthians 13:9 which reads, "For we know in part [a portion], and we prophesy in part," and of course that verse is followed up with "But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away" (I Corinthians 13:10). The word "perfect" they define as not starting off in perfection, but gradually arriving at perfection – one hundred percent pure prophecy. God is perfect and there is no imperfection in His Word! Neither is His Word gradually perfected.
Take a look at the following statements these so-called prophets have made concerning their impure prophecies:
[Jones] was told that the general level of prophetic revelation in the church was about 65% accurate at this time. Some are only about 10% accurate, a very few of the most mature prophets are approaching 85% to 95% accuracy. Prophecy is increasing in purity, but there is still a long way to go for those who walk in this ministry. This is actually grace for the church now, because 100% accuracy in this ministry will bring a level of accountability to the church which she is too immature to bear at this time; it would result in too many 'Ananias and Sapphiras.' ("Heresy And The New Breed Of Prophets." Joseph R. Chambers, Paw Creek Ministries, Charlotte, NC.)Bob
Saints, this is not the ministry or office of a prophet. God isn’t winking the eye at 85 percent accuracy in prophecy because that means God is not sure of Himself since He is supposed to have given the Word to the prophet speaking. Something is terribly wrong with this. It’s demonic!
. (Counterfeit Revival. Hank Hanegraaff. Word Publishing, Dallas, TX, 1997, p 75.)Vineyard prophet David Ravenhill says that seers [prophets] should not be tested by the accuracy of their predictions but by the character of their lives: ‘I believe the test of a prophet is not whether his word comes to pass, it’s his lifestyle. It’s the character of the individual. That is how you test a prophet….It’s not a matter of whether the word comes to pass or not, it’s the nature of that person’s life….prophet Bob Jones says, ‘I figure if I hit two-thirds, I’m doing pretty good….Jack Deer, too, believes that it is wrong to hold modern-day seers to the test of 100 percent accuracy
Folks, this is not God. God does not operate like that and does not permit His people to operate like that. God is TRUTH all the way and then some. I kind of think these so-called prophets are a little mixed up on what Paul wrote concerning "prophesying in part" in I Corinthians 13:9. They are really mixed up when using the Revised Standard of the Bible, which reads...
For our knowledge is imperfect and our prophecy is imperfect (I Corinthians 13:9 - RSV).
I have come to the conclusion that these so-called prophets are using the Revised Standard Version of the Bible for their justification for imperfection in spewing out prophecies. The word "imperfect" means flawed or undeveloped, and if a word of prophecy is flawed or undeveloped, then it is a lie. Who’s the father of lies? Satan!
Saints, I Corinthians 13 is (1) used to justify erroneous prophecies, and (2) used to justify prophecy coming in stages until it reaches 100 percent accuracy (of course there is no such thing). The bit about prophecy coming in increments of pureness has the phrase "knowledge is imperfect" to support it. Oh, Satan is very clever. Yes, the gift of prophecy is in part, and is in part because God is not revealing all there is to know about His Spirit, power, might, and His Church - not about percent accuracy and inaccuracy.
The one coming with counterfeit prophecies is the one who is led by his/her own heart or ungodly wisdom. He/she would not be carrying forth false prophecies if not leading an immoral life of sorts, even greedy for fame and/or money. The false prophet justifies certain sins in The Church. An example of that is so-called prophets Rick Joyner, Cindy Jacobs, Peter Wagner, and Bob Jones are known to support Promise Keepers, when it is also known that Promise Keepers is about ecumenism. Ecumenism is not from God, but is of man, and these people are supporting it. They are bedfellows with the whorish Catholic Church and all else that comes with the Pope. These so-called prophets are guilty of justifying sin in The Church, and added to that, they bite their lips when it comes to pointing the finger at sin and unholiness in The Church as is in the Promise Keepers organization. (No, Promise Keepers is not a good Christian organization.)
(Shepherd's Rod . http://www.mwt.net/~henmd/mark/bob_jones_98.html Pulled 7/9/00. A Prophetic Outline for 1998 by Bob Jones.)The Lord is calling the Promise Keepers to emerge as the dread champions of God and of the family. The glory of the Lord is preparing to fall on the Promise Keepers.
A little bit about these Promise Keepers that Joyner, Jones, and Jacobs support. Promise Keepers is an ecumenical organization. Men in attendance at Promise Keepers meetings include the likes of the whorish Mormons and Catholics, who are encouraged by their churches to attend. These two false denominations have no fear of their men being proselytized out of their denominations and into the True Church of Jesus Christ. They don’t fear that happening because they know it never will happen in keeping with three unwritten promises that PsychoHeresy Awareness Ministries reported after having done research:
("Promise Keepers’ 3 Unwritten Promises." Martin and Deidre Bobgan. PsychoHeresy Awareness Letter, Vol. 3, No. 5, p 1, September-October 1995.)During the past months we have made numerous phone calls to Catholic archdiocese offices, parishes, pastors and priests. In addition, we have called several Mormon (LDS) Temples, Wards and Stakes. And, we have contacted RLDS (Reorganized) Mormons.
In the numerous phone calls, we asked a variety of questions and were given prompt, clear, courteous answers. It became evident to us that, in addition to the well-known Seven Promises of Promise Keepers, there are three unwritten promises also being made and kept. It is doubtful, if asked, that the Promise Keepers would directly affirm or deny these three promises. Nonetheless, Catholics, Mormons, and Reorganized Mormons know that the three unwritten promises exist and they trust the three promises will be kept…. The three unwritten promises of Promise Keepers are very simply:
- Promise Keepers will not violate your doctrines.
- Promise Keepers will not proselytize your men.
- Promise Keepers will send men back to their parishes, churches, and wards.
If these three unwritten promises were not committed to and kept, why would Catholics, Mormons, and Reorganized Mormons encourage their men to participate? Would they send their men to rallies or meetings where their doctrines would be violated or their men would be proselytized and stolen from their parishes, churches, and wards? Absolutely not! And, that is what we were told in speaking to numerous Catholics, Mormons, and Reorganized Mormons.
Saints, a true prophet of God would never support organizations such as Promise Keepers because a true prophet of God is about bringing people out of sin and into the place whereby they walk with God in true righteousness and holiness. (Catholics and Mormons are not true Christians and need salvation.) If Promise Keepers has the opportunity to witness to Catholics and Mormons, why do they not do so? They don’t because they are about ecumenism and that is not God. False prophets? Yea!
God has this to say about false prophets and their source:
Please Look At These Prophecies

A false prophet and preacher (John J. Hinkle) prophesied that God was going to …ON THURSDAY, JUNE THE 9TH [1994], I WILL RIP ALL THE EVIL OUT OF THE WORLD. He was so sure of this that he opened his message "Thy Kingdom Come" by saying: (Three-page handout of the message from Pastor Hinkle’s Christ Church, Los Angeles before June 9, 1994. I saw him on TBN and made contact to the address given by him.) This man was so sure that it was God. The stern voice; hearing the voice both inside and outside of him but yet the wife was not awakened; all of the Scriptures the enemy referred him to – my goodness, surely it was God, he did indeed think. He did share it with his church and with the world. The Church should have recognized from the beginning that, (a) by discernment of spirits, either that preacher was telling a lie because he had received it from an unholy spirit; or (b) God’s Word was a lie. We know God’s Word is definitely not a lie. If you study the Scriptures, you know that if all the evil is taken out of the world, that means we have the new heaven and the new earth and both God the Father and the Son dwell here. There would be no more crime, wars, hatred, and so on, because all would be holy. This error cannot be overlooked as "Prophets do sometimes make mistakes." Yes, false prophets make mistakes, but "true prophets" of God do not make mistakes. |

The following quoted material comes from Inside G.I. News, January/February 2000. "The Exodus of the Russian Jews" by Jim W. Goll. This article appears on Cindy Jacobs’ website, Generals of Intercession (www.generals.org); and on Jim and Michal Ann Goll’s website, Ministry to the Nations (www.ministrytothenations.org). In December of 1999, C. Peter Wagner, at the World Congress on Intercession spoke prophetically that
The aforementioned prophetic word from Wagner served as the second confirmation to Jim Goll’s visitation from The Lord seven months earlier. Goll said that [Jeremiah 16:14-16; 23:7-8] will begin to be released to hunt down the Russian Jews…. The first confirmation regarding this was from the mouth of so-called prophetess Cindy Jacobs in May 1999. She said that
Those two points grabbed my spiritual antennae. Going on, Goll, who wrote the article for Jacob’s publication as well as for his own, says,
|
|
|
Goll goes on to request of the church the following:
Saints, if the Russian Jews flee during a time of safety, how on God’s green earth will God get the glory in this? He won’t! Not that way. For the Jews to "flee during a time of safety," how will God carry out His Word so that it doesn’t return to Him void or fall to the ground? Think on that! God will cowardly have to draw-in His "outstretched arm," and that will never be. When God brought Israel out of Egypt He got the glory through the workings of (Jeremiah 32:21). Why so? It wasn’t like that when God brought His people out of Babylonian bondage? The answer is that because of the grave persecution and injustices the Hebrew people suffered in Egypt, including their lack of freedom to go when they wanted to, God had to show His hand as The God of all creation. The old Soviet Union notably persecuted the Jews, sealed them in without freedom to go when they so desired, and afflicted them with many injustices. Today, Russia and her former empire nations are yet persecuting the remaining Jews. Anti-Semitism is even increasing. With that having gone on and continuing, God Himself is going to have to get the glory for bringing the Russian Jews out. Remember His Word: [Russia and company], and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers (Jeremiah 16:14-15). |
||
|
In those words, God said Himself that when the time comes for the Jews to come out of Russia it will not be by a $300 airline ticket, the prayers of the World Congress on Intercession, nor the Generals of Intercession praying for them to "flee during a time of safety." Remember the outstretched arm in Egypt? The outstretched arm over Russia can in no wise be compared to what went on with Pharaoh and the Egyptians. Remember, (Ezekiel 20:34). No indeed, it doesn’t look to me like these so-called prophets are hearing from The God of Israel on this matter, nor any other matters. Yes, there may be some coincidences with regard to the North Sea travel route, and even the period of time persecution against the Jews will really heighten at the hands of the Russians. But, like I said, coincidences. |
||
|
Goll is requesting the intercessors to...
My, goodness! Please! The enemy is going to – no, must carry out his plan for the Russian Jews so that God can carry out His Word about His outstretched arm and with fury against the slave masters of Russia. The above quote was all too familiar. Didn’t that remind you of when old Satan was operating in Apostle Peter’s Life? [Jesus], and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this [Jesus’ death] shall not be unto thee. But he [Jesus] turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men (Matthew 16:22-23). |
||
|
These people don’t want to thwart the enemy’s plans but they want to thwart God’s plans. Isn’t that just like the Devil? That same old Devil that spoke through Peter attempting to keep Jesus from going to the cross. Church, these so-called prophets of today are false prophets. They don’t have God’s voice nor are their dreams and visions from God. Steer clear of them. They work for the enemy. Anytime these false prophets put the weight on The Church’s back by saying "if" you will pray fervently, then such-and-such will happen. If such-and-such doesn’t happen, then it’s the fault of The Church because she did not pray hard enough. Please! |

Paul Cain – the prophet of prophets – false, that is. I pulled the following from John Barela’s "Today, The Bible and You" article that appeared in the June 1993 issue: |
|
|
Question: You are always seemingly criticizing President Clinton. However, I heard Carlton Pierson take one entire sermon to tell about the dream Paul Cain had where he saw God put His Spirit upon President Clinton and change him into another man just as He did Saul of old. Carlton Pierson said that God revealed to Cain that God chose Clinton to lead the United States into a new spiritual dimension, provided Christians pray for him. He even said the future headlines of several newspapers confirmed the prophecy. Are you ready to apologize for being so critical of President Clinton? |
Answer: Absolutely not! As Dave Hunt related…Cain’s mentor was ‘prophet/healer/miracle worker’ William Branham (declared a heretic by the Assemblies of God 40 years ago….Cain’s testimony of numerous childhood spirit visitations and miraculous powers sounds more occultic than Christian. This latest vision has a built-in escape clause: it will happen only ‘if the Church prays for it.’ If it fails, the Church’s lack of prayer, instead of the ‘prophet,’ can be blamed. Apparently even John Wimber [deceased] has become somewhat disillusioned with such prophecies, which he had embraced wholeheartedly. The descent of Wimber and his team of ‘prophets’ upon England for the October, 1990 Docklands Conference had been preceded by a false Paul Cain prophecy of great revival in England. Convinced that the ‘revival would spread from the conference across Europe,’ Wimber declared, ‘As Jesus went into Jerusalem on the back of a victorious church. One in the eye for an dispensationalist among us!" Wimber brought his four children to experience this great outpouring of the Spirit, but nothing special happened. Wimber has since broken his ties with Paul Cain, whom he had regarded as God’s special prophet to the Vineyard movement. |

I can bring the false prophet Paul Cain a little closer to home. It was either 1986 or 1987 that Paul Cain used to appear on what was then channel 49 television here in Dallas with the late Eldred Thomas. The viewers could call in and if they got through (very busy lines), Paul Cain would give them a word from The Lord, supposedly. I, yes me, called in requesting prayer for my marriage to be healed. Cain said to me, over live television, that God was going to heal and restore my marriage, and that it would be like it never was before. Well, folks, I’m hear to tell you, I didn’t hold my breath too long – long enough though. The man I was married to is on his third marriage, and "it ain’t me, okay." Besides that, looking back, "I didn’t really miss that man anyway," and God helped me to raise my three children without teen pregnancies or drug problems. I might also add, I have not remarried, don’t date, and love my life IN THE LORD just as it is, so, Paul Cain missed the boat there also. |

The Lure To The Poor Pastors
At a recent National School of the Prophets conference in Colorado Springs, steps were taken to do something about impeding church growth due to a division between pastors and those in the so-called prophetical ministry. Mistrust was said to have caused the division.
(Charisma News Service. "Reconciliation Efforts Aims to Heal Rift Between Pastors and Prophets" by Andy Butcher, June 16, 2000.)Global Harvest Ministries founder C. Peter Wagner…said that problems had developed within the emerging prophetic movement because prophets were not operating under the proper church government, while pastors tended to evaluate prophecies on Old Testament, rather than New Testament standards. As a result, the church had been deprived of prophetic ministry…
Because the pastors are obviously being dosed out prophetic lies in lieu of truths, they are, and by right, removing themselves from these so-called prophets. Result of this, these false prophets are accusing the pastors of using the wrong criteria for judging them – the Old Testament criteria, which will prove a liar wrong every time. (1) These prophets have immune themselves from error; and (2) they have excused themselves for mistakes because they have not matured to 100 percent accuracy, thus granting themselves chance after chance until they get it correct. Church, that is not God! God does not operate like that. Standards for judging a prophet have not changed, New Testament nor Old Testament prophets. The prophecy is supposed to be 100% accurate if it is of God. Now, if it’s of Satan, it can be 65 percent accurate, 10 percent accurate, 85 percent accurate, or even 95 percent accurate.
[Peter] Wagner, who is writing a book on the new ‘protocol’ he believes is needed between pastors and prophets, said while in the Old Testament prophets who made a mistake would be stoned, in the New Testament prophecy was ‘basically a spiritual gift,’ and so should be judged by the same standard applied to apostles, evangelists, pastors and teachers. ‘There are some good ones and not-so good ones, more accurate ones and less accurate ones.’ (Ibid.)
Mr. Wagner is correct in what he says about New Testament prophecy being basically the spiritual gift of prophecy. He fails, however, to say that the spiritual gift of prophecy does not make one a "prophet" as he and his peers are claiming. This means the Joyners, the Jacobs, and others are not prophets per say, but are exercising the gift of prophecy, even if it is "false prophecy."
As for judging them with the standards used for the apostles, evangelist, pastors, and teachers, it is simple: don’t receive their false dreams and visions because they are sent straight from Satan. Good and not so good; more accurate ones and less accurate ones, whether they be apostles, prophets, evangelist, pastors, or teachers – The Church doesn’t need diviners. The Church does have need for God’ true prophets that are about to come on the scene with 100 percent pure words from The Lord to The Church.
The article went on to report that...
(Ibid.)The symbolic reconciliation was led by Chuck Pierce, Global Harvest vice president, who said that it was ‘tearing down a schism." He said prophets wanted to apologize to pastors for ‘immaturity and a lack of accuracy,’ and for ‘that word that…began to twist and manipulate you to send you in wrong directions, becoming not a word of life but a word of death.’….
Now everything is just "a-okay." Church, as you can see, the "immaturity and lack of accuracy" of these false prophets was responsible for twisting and manipulating the people in God’s Church – sending them in wrong directions because they spoke words of death that came straight from Satan. These false prophets might not think so, but they come as the "Gates of hell attempting to prevail against Jesus’ Church, beginning with the pastors.
In Conclusion
These modern-day so-called prophets are not true prophets of God, but are simply operating in the gift of prophecy or are given the dreams and visions that Joel prophesied about for the last days. This must, however, have some clarification. These so-called prophets are not even operating in the true gift of prophecy nor are given pure dreams and visions from God. Their dreams and visions may have a little truth sprinkled in them but yet, they give revelations that are the complete opposite of God’s Word.
Only false prophets wear their role on their sleeve for all to see. "Hey, look at me, I’m the last days' prophet"! They even scratch one another’s back – "she’s a prophet," "he’s a prophet." But the sum of the matter is:
(Jeremiah 14:14).Then the Lord said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart

Judgment and punishment is severe for the New Testament false prophet, with the only thing missing being physical death. The reason physical death is not brought upon them is because of mercy under the New Covenant. Moses and the Old Covenant people had no mercy – people were stoned to death for such sins as falsely prophesying.
(Hebrews 10:28).He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses
Unless the false prophet repents, he/she will live out his/her days in reprobation, and in the end will not receive eternal happiness with The Lord – that's death for them.
(Matthew 7:22-23).Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity
The false prophets in today’s apostate church are very popular. They are lifted up and given honor as "men and women of God," who are "used mightily by God." The Lord Jesus is saying to them,
(Luke 6:26).Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets
Church, again, you must steer clear of these people. It is too spiritually dangerous. Draw close to The Lord and stay in His Word. Really get to know God’s Word, and it will not be difficult to tell counterfeit prophecies from authentic prophecies. (1) If you have Holy Ghost baptism which endues all with a certain amount of discernment of spirits; (2) if you know the Word of God as a result of reading it daily and studying it; and (3) you have good common sense, then you will not be trapped in this end time chicanery of Satan’s.
