Judaism?  Messianic Judaism?
(August 15, 2001; modified August 2004)

The Church was purchased with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, and before Him there was no church, it was Judaism.  It took Jesus’ death, burial, resurrection, and the dispatching of His Holy Spirit for the full birth or delivery of The Church in the natural.  It was but one Church that Jesus built and it was built in one format only, and with the power of the Holy Spirit.  Jesus’ Church is not Judaism.

Judaism:  A religion developed among the ancient Hebrews and characterized by belief in one transcendent God who has revealed Himself to Abraham, Moses, and the Hebrew prophets and by a religious life in accordance with Scriptures and rabbinic traditions   2: Conformity to Jewish rites, ceremonies, and practices (Webster’s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary, 1987).

To say that the rituals and traditions of Judaism are needed in The Church for Jewish people who believe Jesus is the Messiah is unfounded.  Judaism inhibits the Holy Spirit, whereas the Holy Spirit is uninhibited in The Church of Jesus Christ because without Him, there is no Church.  Jesus’ Church is with power.  Should the Holy Spirit, whose initial duty is to regenerate, seal, indwell, and fill all who believe and are baptized into Christ (The Church), be shackled and bound by the traditions and rituals of Judaism, He will not operate – He cannot operate.

There is no separate format for the Jewish Believers in The Church, and another format for non-Jewish Believers.  Jesus is: The Head of One Body – The Shepherd of One Sheep – The Bridegroom of One Bride – The Vine from which branches offshoot with no mixture.  Since when did you hear of a grape vine producing grapes and green beans?  Granted, there are a lot of schisms (denominations) in the Body of Christ, but dear Jesus is in the process of establishing a group of Believers that will make up His True Church as Truly Born Again Spirit-filled Uncompromising Christians (“TBASUCs”).  The denominational walls will not fall down, but Jesus will pull from behind them, those who will walk as TBASUCs – Mark 16:16-18 Believers:

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mark 16:16-18).

And that is all without traditions, rituals, and culture attached to them.  Amen!

Judaism Is Passé

40 years in the wilderness and the giving of the Law: (out comes Judaism)

“In the ‘Transition Period’ from Egypt to Canaan of the children of Israel, the Lord employed ‘Signs’ (Miracles) to authenticate the Divine Mission of Moses. Ex 4:19.

40 years from Pentecost to the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in AD 70: (out comes Christianity)

“The same method was employed in the ‘Transition Period’ between ‘Judaism’ and ‘Christianity’ to authenticate the Messiahship of Jesus, and the Divine Mission of the Apostles.”

(Rightly Dividing The Word  (self-published) by Clarence Larkin, Philadelphia, PA, p 293, 1921.)

Speaking in Tongues as evidence of Holy Ghost baptism along with the miracles, signs, and wonders of the Holy Spirit for kingdom work for Believers is also evidence that Judaism is defunct and there is no such thing as a “Completed Jew.”  A Jewish person making the transition from Judaism (old) to Christianity (new) becomes a new creature in Christ, but that does not make that person a “Completed Jew.”  No such animal. The Jew going from Judasim to Christianity goes from what was (Judaism) to what now is (Christianity) because the new, or what now is, overshadows that what was since what now is, is superior.  The Jew in Judaism has to choose to want the what now, which is better.  It’s not like Judaism comes in Part I and Part II, with Part II being Christianity to make one a “Completed Jew", but it is about choosing the better covenant of the two which allows one to walk in a different light than the Old Covenant light of Judaism. This is not to say that Jesus started a new religion because He didn’t.  There is a sharp difference between Judaism and Christianity, but they do not overlap – Christianity transcends, it is superior.  God changed His way of having a loving and saving relationship with mankind through what now is, thus making Judaism outdated.  The parable of the Householder who planted His vineyard was also “the nail in the coffin” for Judaism.  After God The Father, the vineyard owner saw that Judaism wasn’t working and sent His prophets and His Son whom they slew, then He decided to …

…miserably destroy those wicked men, and…let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons….The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof   (Matthew 21:33-43).

That was the destruction of Jerusalem, the Temple, the death of about one million Jews, and their dispersion.  Judaism is passé, therefore there is no “Completed Jew” in Christianity as the Messianic Jewish Movement proclaims.

Messianic Jewish Movement And Its Mandates

Are Messianic Jews “Completed Jews” or are they really just Hebrew Christians?  The name Jew is short for Jehudi meaning people of Judah (praises God). God did not initially call the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Jews, but called them Hebrews, and later Israel (Jacob).  To God they are Hebrews or Israelites, and Judaism is their religion.  Judaism connotes religion and not a race of people.  Judaism is of the Old Covenant and it rejects Jesus Christ as Messiah.

Messianic Judaism is a misnomer with regard to a Jew believing that Jesus is the Messiah.

The Rabbinical Jew

The Completed Jew

To say that one is a Messianic Jew is to say that one is practicing Judaism, the Law without change to it, and is a believer that the Messiah is to come for the first time.

To say that one is a Messianic Jew is to say that one is completely assimilated into Christianity as a Jewish convert, and believes the Messiah did come in Jesus Christ, but continues traditional Jewish practices while attending a Messianic congregation. (This is the Messianic Jewish Movement (“MJM”).)

Messianic Judaism promoting the “Completed Jew” is not Biblically decreed in its separatist format, and neither are its tenets New Covenantally sound.  In fact, this movement is just another schism in the Body of Christ – The Church that is already apostate in its doctrines.  MJM walks according to the tradition of Judaism including several Messianic Yeshivas set up to teach and ordain candidates to be Messianic Rabbis.

MJM in the Body of Christ returns to their Jewish heritage and practices in Judaism and believes that the rest of the Body of Christ should as well and they’ve been mandated by God to see to it.

  1. The Jewish Voice Broadcasts’ aim is to “teach Believers about their Jewish roots.” (That instead of  urging them on about righteousness and holiness that the Church needs.)
  1. One website I visited says, “Christians roots are in Judaism so you should be learning from the Messianic Jews about your ancestry.” (That instead of urging them on about righteousness and holiness that the Church needs.)
  1. Messianic Judaism is “…seeking to put Messiah back within His Biblical and Jewish context” (The Messianic Times.  “What is Messianic Judaism And Who Is Yeshua” by David Chernoff, p 2, Summer 2001). I suppose by “Biblical context” they mean, making sure non-Jews understand that Jesus was a Jew and some of Judaism should be in the churches. How necessary to salvation is putting Jesus into Biblical context? It’s not important.  What is important is putting Jesus – THE WORD – THE BIBLE on the fleshly table of your heart and letting Him live His life in you to the fullest.  Yes, He was born a Jew, so what?  He had to be born something.  It’s not what ethnic group He was born into as much as it is why He was born.  (To shed His precious blood for forgiveness, regeneration, justification, sanctification, peace, joy, and for ruling and reigning with Him in the Millennium.)

It appears that “teaching Believers about their Jewish roots” has such high priority in the Messianic Jewish Movement. Could it be because they are very concerned about Replacement Theology, which is nothing but jealousy?  Secure your position with Christ in holiness, and don’t worry about the rest.  There are no “#1s” in True Christianity, and perhaps that is the problem with the Messianic Jewish Movement – they feel they know best because salvation began with them – “the lost sheep of the house of Israel” – the Jew first. Do they feel they know best since …

  1. they are Jewish

  2. Jesus was a Jew, born to a Jewish woman

  3.  Jesus attended synagogue

  4. Jesus was a Rabbi

  5. Jesus taught the Torah/Law

  6. Jesus kept all the customs

  7. Jesus kept all the feast days

  8. the Bible was written by Jews

  9. the first Apostles were Jews

  10. the first Believers were Jews

Yes, that is all true.  But, the Messianic Jewish Movement does not have a mandate from God to distinguish themselves from other Christians as Jewish Believers, while teaching them of their Jewish roots.  MJM believe they do; but they don’t.

Messianic Judaism is a religious movement with the belief ‘that G-d wants the Jewish people to remain a distinct and obedient nation until the end of time.’  Messianic Jews retain their Jewish symbolism, heritage, culture, and seasonal days of celebration and many details of religious observance (“Messianic Judaism A Controversial Religion” at www.religioustolerance.org/mess_jud.htm.)

The Messianic Jewish Movement sees themselves as separate from other Born Again Christians, and to be distinct they express their Jewishness in their congregations, and that’s not the Holy Spirit.  They justify their Jewish distinction from the rest of Christianity by believing that Jesus did not come to destroy Jewishness.  Well, He didn’t come to destroy their Jewishness anymore than He came to destroy my Blackness or any other “ness.”  But, Jewishness, Blackness, and any other “ness” goes on the back burner when it comes to The Church – The Body of Christ – Born Again Believers.  “Ness” has no place in The Church but the Holy Spirit does so that we are all “one.”

The Messianic Jewish Movement has even gone so far as to change the titles so that they will not be identified with non-Jewish Christians.

A problem facing the Messianic leaders is that while the term pastor is an excellent job description, like the term church, it never gives the impression the title holder is Jewish ("Return Of The Remnant", Michael Schiffman.  Lederer Messianic Publishers, Baltimore, MD, p 52, 1996.)

The crux of the matter with Messianic Judaism is their desire to impress others (Jews) that they are Jewish, Jewish, Jewish. MJM wants to impress upon other Christians that, “Hey, we were first, and we know best.” My dear people, being Jewish is not your salvation.  Up front, this tragic way you’ve surrendered yourselves to is the root cause of you not seeing yourselves as “…Christians in Jewish clothing, but Jews worshipping their Messiah” (Ibid. p.50). MJMs, you are Hebrews – Hebrew Christians. This is what has brought you to put heritage (tradition) and culture (customs) before the New Covenant of Christ Jesus, that is, unless you have a different covenant that is not in The Bible, which has ended  in your “spiritual arrogance.”

Them And Us

All that are Christ-like are Christians and are called by no other name unless they are denying Christ.  You Jewish Believers in Jesus (Messianic Jews) don’t want to be identified with Christianity so you figure that by calling yourselves Messianic Jews and the rest of us “Gentile Christians,” you will not be directly associated with Christianity.  One has to remember, Jews see Christians as being responsible for the Holocaust, Inquisitions, and Crusades.  What the Jews didn’t know in the past, and still don’t know, is that ALL THAT SAYS I’M A CHRISTIAN IS NOT A CHRISTIAN. Those responsible for the unspeakable bloodshed under the guise of Christianity were pseudo-Christians who didn’t walk as Christ walked and were rebellious and filled with hatred for anybody that was different than they.

You so-called Messianic Jews don’t wish to be labeled Christian because you don’t have boldness and spiritual guts enough to not care about other Jews telling you that you are no longer Jews, even if it means in a sense denying Christ.  God forbid!  Repent!  You are no longer Jews practicing Judaism, but you are Hebrews/Israelis practicing Christianity as others are of other nationalities and ethnic groups practicing Christianity -- CHRISTIANS. If you don’t want to call yourself a Christian, go ahead, but you’ll have to answer to God for that. No matter how grave the persecution is by other Jews for being a Christian, for Heaven sake don’t deny being a Christian by calling yourself a “Messianic Jew” or a “Completed Jew” – that is outright denying Christ as you transition yourselves out of the New Covenant and back into the Old Covenant.

There is no separation in God’s plan of salvation under the New Covenant.  Jews and non-Jews alike have to enter through the same door.

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture (John 10:9).

In the True Church of Jesus Christ, there is no division of Jew and non-Jew – no separation of Messianic Jew and Christians because all are Christians.  All people coming through Jesus is ONE before God.  This means, those former Gentiles and Jews that have now taken on the Son of The God of Israel are all Christians. Since Gentiles are now been blessed to be in covenant with God along side the Jews as sons of God wearing their new name (Christian), they are no longer heathens and therefore should no longer be referred to as Gentile Christians by so-called Messianic Jews.  That’s the Messianic Jews way of setting themselves apart from other Christians when they all believe Jesus is their Messiah. There is no such labeling as Gentile Christians and Messianic Jews in the True Church of Jesus Christ.

Christians (former Gentiles/heathens), you are new spiritual creations in Christ and you bear the new name,  Christian, meaning like Christ Jesus. Being like Jesus you cannot be a Gentile because a Gentile cannot at the same time be ...

. . . a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.  Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy (I Peter 2:9-10).

There are no Messianic Jews and Gentile Christians that believe Jesus is the Messiah.  There is just no such thing. If a Gentile is a heathen, how can he remain such when he becomes Born Again and he walks with God?  Heathens don’t walk with God, for that’s what a Gentile denotes.

Jesus Said This About Them And Us – Oneness

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me” (John 17:20-21).

The oneness Christ prayed for in His prayer to The Father (John 17:11) is the one church body. One church body does not mean separate but equal Messianic Jews and “Gentile Christians” because a Gentile or a heathen cannot at the same time be a Born Again Christian. The Church of Jesus Christ is one harmonized unit – The Body of Christ.  With Christ being the Head of the Church, there can be but one body that makes Christianity “one.”  Jesus only had one body to give up on the cross so how can there be a body for Messianic Judaism and another body for the rest of Christianity.  Jesus is the Head of one Christian church – Christianity.  It’s bad enough that all that calls itself Christian, is not, but for Messianic Judaism to see itself other than Christian because of their heritage, is anathema – it’s accursed – it’s damnable heresy.

Messianic Judaism is an age-old trick of Satan’s to get the Jewish people out of the will of God.  They are deceived into taking hold of the traditions of the Pharisees and incorporating them into Christianity.  What they are doing is equally as wretched as what the early Church in Rome did by incorporating paganism into Christianity and controlling and manipulating the other churches thus producing the rotten fruit of Catholicism.  To think, Messianic Judaism loath Catholicism when the both of them are the gates of hell attempting to prevail against the Church of Jesus Christ – The True Church, that is.

Call to mind that there is but One Church body of Jesus Christ with just one Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not operating as one spirit for Messianic Jews and another Spirit for non-Jews.  The one Church body of Jesus Christ is not one group holding fast to the traditions of Judaism and the other group isn’t, while steadily being reminded that they must get back to their Jewish roots, or should I say, tradition that is out of the Jewish roots.  The Messianic Jewish Movement believes “they’ve got it just right” because of them being Jews and Jesus was a Jew, but that’s just not so, being that …

(1)    the New Covenant includes “anybody” that will love and obey God;

(2)    the New Covenant was written in Greek instead of Hebrew as an indication of God doing a new thing and in a totally new way; and

(3)   God divided the time equally by giving 2,000 years without The Law; 2,000 years with The Law through the Jewish people; and 2,000 years with His Word through Christians (Jew and non-Jew) and His Holy Spirit; and the last 1,000 years will be with God’s only begotten Son ruling and reigning on earth over all.

No dear people, it’s not about going back to your Jewish roots and taking whom you refer to as the “Gentile Church” back with you – it’s not that at all. God is love and all He’s ever wanted from any human being, Jew or non-Jew, was love. Adam and Eve weren’t Jewish and all God wanted from them was love – not Jewish tradition. God wants people to love Him and His Son and He’s looking for anyone, not “special ones.”  He made that clear in the Old Testament when He made the stranger, the non-Hebrew one with the Hebrews.

Neither let the son of the stranger [non-Jews], that hath joined himself to theLord, speak, saying, The Lord hath utterly separated me from his people:neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
            For thus saith the Lord unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
            Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the Lord, to serve him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the Sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people
(Isaiah 56:3-7).

God is no respecter of persons.  The Jew, the stranger, the Messianic Jew, the non-Jew Christian – God has never placed Jews above any non-Jews who loved Him and served Him.   Jesus gave His life for the life of the world (John 6:51) and when He says the world, He means He’s there for all in the world, if they so choose to grab hold of salvation. There is but one plan of salvation for Jew and non-Jew alike. It’s all the same, and if God didn’t want the stranger or the non-Jew in the Old Testament to feel separated from the Jewish People, how much more does He not want there to be separation between Jewish and non-Jewish believing Christians.

And other sheep I have [non-Jews], which are not of this fold [Jews]: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold [Christians], and one shepherd [Jesus] (John 10:16).

The Rituals

Rituals are religious expressions of an outward sign of what is “supposed” to be going-on inside the congregants.  This is operating in the flesh and not the Holy Spirit.  Rituals stir up the emotions and that also is not “Spirit.”  Rituals make you “feel” like you’re holy, and that’s not the Holy Spirit either.

Sacrificial offerings under the Old Covenant were ritualistic and as they were nailed to the cross with Jesus, so were the rest of the rituals in Judaism.  When the Levitical Priesthood went – so went the rituals.  The only sacrifice God accepts before Him is “self” – not burnt upon an altar, but “self” in a broken and surrendered spirit.  Physical sacrifice went to the grave when Jesus did, and thus resurrected into existence were “spiritual sacrifices.”

Given that Jews see these Messianic Jews as no longer Jews, one of the ways these so-called Messianic Jews prove to Judaism that they are yet Jews, but are now “Completed Jews” is that, in their services they still hold on to repetitious prayers when the Word of God says that these kinds of prayers are what pagans use and they get nowhere.  In their services, they parade around with the Torah Scroll, which is nothing more than “show.” These are rituals, and these rituals are works – they are superficial, and the Holy Spirit is not there. Just like there is no need to carry a big Bible everywhere to show that you are a Christian, there is no need to parade the Torah around.  The Word of God tells you that the Word is in you, on the fleshly tables of your heart (should be).  Yes, Christianity has its roots in Judaism, but Christianity is a new thing – it’s different, and the rituals are out and the Holy Spirit is in.

In so doing, the Messianic Jewish Movement makes the Word of God of non-effect because of their hold onto Synagogue tradition.  They hold tightly so that they will not be mistaken for Christians and thus cast aside as non-Jews.  These Messianic Jews would much rather not transgress the traditions of Judaism than be labeled a non-Jew, even at the risk of missing out on the kingdom of God coming near them.  What a pity!  All for the sake of being identified outwardly as a Jew.

Farewell, Gentile Christian Terms

Those in the Messianic Jewish Movement want their worship and evangelization to be more Jewish than their counterpart, “Gentile Christians.”  They emphasize using original Hebrew Terms such as …

There you have it.  The MJM has “just gotta be different”!  They cannot be deprived of Judaism, even though the New Testament is in Greek and not Hebrew which is sending a message  about the difference between the Old and the New.

Here Is What They Are Saying

In July 1999, the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America, Young Messianic Jewish Alliance, International Alliance of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues assembled with about 2,000 people for their “Messiah ‘99” conference in Grantham, Pennsylvania.  One of the guess speakers was Rick Joyner of Morning Star Ministry.  Follows are excerpts from Rabbi Robert Cohen’s speech before introducing Rick Joyner, and then excerpts from Rick Joyner’s speech.  Rick Joyner is the ever popular false prophet whose dreams, visions, and prophesies sees “Wisdom” in the masculine rather than the feminine as The Bible refers to her.  (More on false prophets at www.scarlet-to-snow.com/info20.htm.)  The first eight quotes came from the transcription of the recorded conference at Watch Unto Prayer website (http://www.watch.pair.com/pray.html), and the rest from other sources.

  1. “But in the last five years God has begun to do something.  He’s raising up a prophetic righteous remnant, that are calling the Church back to their Jewish roots, back to become a prophetic call to the nation of Israel…to provoke the Jewish people to jealousy.  And to say to the Church you have Messianic Jewish brethren we need to connect with.” (Rabbi Robert Cohen)  ---  (1) All The Church needs to know is that Jesus was born a Jew and what He died on Calvary to redeemed us from the curse of the law and reconciled us to Father God. (2) If The Church will clean up her apostate act and get back to righteousness and holiness, they will provoke the Jews and others to jealousy whereby they will want to know Jesus.
  1. “…they told me backstage.  You know, you’re the first Gentile we’ve let into this pulpit.” (Rick Joyner).    ---  Oh, my, what an honor!
  1. “I’m just sharing some of the things I believe I’ve seen spiritually, especially about this movement.  You’re coming of age now.  There’s a certain graduation, a certain maturity…compared to other movements it may not be very large.  I think that you’re exceptionally large, when you think of what you’ve had to endure to get to this stage…it’s quality that is the point, it’s the anointing that really matters…a people almost without a country…being rejected by…your own relatives to be a part of the Messianic and then the Church doesn’t know what to do with you either…I can’t personally comprehend how difficult it has been for you to get where you have got and I’ve watched for a long time….” (Rich Joyner)  ---  (1) The Church doesn’t know what to do with them because she is out in left field in an apostate condition. (2) To help Mr. Joyner comprehend why the MJM has had a difficult struggle in getting to where they are, well, it’s because God has been hindering them so that they would not make the mistakes they’ve been making.
  1. “I believe there’s some real clarity coming, a specific purpose, a nature.  Not just through me.  I believe it’s coming and I don’t know how it’s going to come but I know here it’s just going to begin to come…You needed to go through the independent stage.  I personally prayed for many years that you would not be corrupted by too many relationships with the Church…I believe your ultimate purpose, I believe it fits together…the way I become one with my wife is not making her into a man.  You’re not supposed to be like the Church in many ways.  The Church is not supposed to be like you. That would mess everything up. (Rick Joyner)  --- (1) False Prophet Joyner’s prayers evidently were not heard because MJM is corrupted because their ultimate purpose is not of God. (2) Nope, The Church is not supposed to be like them – steeped in Judaism and neither are they supposed to be like that.  They, however, together with The Church, are to be like Jesus, like Mark 16:16-18 Believers, excluding rituals, traditions, worldliness and the the rest of the trash. (3) The only thing the MJM does that The Church MUST do is cut loose Christmas, Easter, and Sunday Sabbath. Oh, and they must cease lending an ear to false prophets like Rick Joyner.
  1. “…I believe if you become like the Church something is lost.  Listen, there’s a whole lot that the Church, believe me, I really believe there must be a revolution.  I don’t believe the Church is anything close to what we’re called to be either.  I’m speaking as a member of the Church.  I believe I have the right to say that.” (Rick Joyner)  ---  No, Mr. Joyner.  Right now, they both are lost.
  1. “Where does this pressure to conform come from?  Religion.  And I believe it is something we must get free of….We don’t have to conform to each other’s image.  We don’t have to conform to anybody else’s image…You don’t have to conform.  Don’t conform.  Believe me.  You don’t want to.  You don’t want to.” (Rick Joyner)   ---  You almost had me fooled, Mr. Joyner.  They don’t have to conform to each other’s image, but they, The Church and the MJM, must conform to the image of Jesus Christ and carry out His mandate (excluding Judaism).
  1. “I don’t believe any people have been more mistreated, more wrongly treated than the Jewish people, in history, okay.  By Christians, mostly…You’re called to help heal the Church.  Not just the Church.  But you’re called to bring healing and the gift of healing to the world.  ---  My, My, he really put his foot in his mouth that time. If the blind leads the blind and they both fall in the ditch, how on God’s green earth can the Messianic Jewish Movement help heal The Church.  They are both hurting and in immediate need of the real Jesus.
  1. “…I’ve been trying to help people to understand, you know there must be a messianic movement that does not just get absorbed into the Church and lose it’s identity.  And I’ve been saying for years that they’re going to help us restore our foundations where they belong.  We’re not going to get there without them. (Rick Joyner)  ---  Rick Joyner really should have shut up before making that statement.  But, when religious demons are running your show, you don’t know when to shut up.  The only identify any of us are supposed to have is in Christ Jesus, alone.  Mr. Joyner, “True Born Again Spirit-filled Uncompromising Christians” have their foundation in God and His Word – not the rituals and traditions of Judaism.
  1. “And you know I believe one of your ultimate callings, I personally believe and I may be saying this jealously, your ultimate calling is to the Church.  To help us.  To help us.  We’re not going to get there without what you’ve got.  And to be honest with you, I don’t think you really know what you’ve got yet.  I really don’t.  I don’t think it’s clear to you yet.  I believe it’s getting clear.  But we’re not going to get where we’re supposed to be without you.  You’re not going to get where you’re supposed to be, without us. (Rick Joyner)  ---  False word coming from the False Prophet.
  1. Musician Paul Wilbur said “He seeks to show his audience that their faith is connected to a Jewish God, who has an everlasting love for His Jewish people.” (The Messianic Times, “Church Embraces Messianic Jewish Music, Movement.”  Summer 2000.)   ---  Well, The Church’s faith is in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who is the God of all who come to love and serve Him.  He is not a God exclusively for the Jews, and He loves all of His people with an everlasting love.  That kind of talk comes from insecure jealous people who are seeking recognition. That’s what the MJM is all about.
  1. “The Messianic vision is the redemption of the Jewish people, not the amelioration of the Gentiles.” (Return Of The Remnant by Michael Schiffman. Lederer Messianic Publishers, Baltimore, MD  p. 114, 1996).  ---  As you can see, the MJM is still stuck on “to the Jew first” which was for Jesus’ time since the Jews were the ones God gave His Law to the first time.  After Jesus, it’s the Great Commission – to all throughout the earth, but they are saying they are not bound to The Great Commission when they don’t want to minister to non-Jew on how to improve their walk with The Lord.  It’s the Jew only for them.  What a pity!

There you have it.  You have seen for yourselves how the Messianic Jewish Movement breaks God’s heart with their version of what Jesus left for them to do in this way of life called Christianity.  It is indeed tragic.  It’s apostasy in its purest form.  (Jesus is the “one heart” that beats for the whole Body of Christ, but one would never know that when looking at the divisions in Christianity.)

In Closing

The rituals that the Messianic Jews are tenaciously clinging to as their Judaic roots are not at all what our Lord Jesus Christ held fast to.  The reason Jesus didn’t adhere to Judaism as it was practiced leading up to and during His time was because it was polluted.  The Jews, at that time, were in a state of depravity.  They were now divided into Pharisees and Sadducees with the Pharisees being the majority and the most powerful sect.

“By adding to the written law a mass of absurd or frivolous traditions, which, as they [Pharisees] foolishly alleged, were handed down from Moses, they subverted the authority of the sacred record; and changed the religion of the patriarchs and prophets into a wearisome parade of superstitious observances (The Ancient Church: Its History, Doctrine, Worship, And Constitution, Traced For The First Three Hundred Years by W.D. Killen.  Anson D.F. Randolph & Company, New York, pp 6-7, 1883).

It is these traditions that Messianic Judaism continues to observe as a sign of them still being Jews or completed Jews.  They want the very stuff that Jesus abandoned just so long as no one calls them “Christian.”

Church, Jew and non-Jew alike, you are

“…born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever (1 Peter 1:23).

BORN AGAIN and MADE AN HOLY NATION sounds like a new name to me, and don’t you ever let any one humiliate you by calling you a Gentile Christian or a Messianic Jew.  Yes, Satan has tainted the name Christian for 2,000-plus years, that’s his job.  But, a True Christian is known by his fruit and is not ashamed of who he is in Christ Jesus.  Satan is also guilty of having blurred the spiritual vision of the non-Jewish Believers by leading them to leave out much of what God intended them to do, and on the other hand, the Messianic Jewish Movement, he leads them to leave in The Church, much of what God intended them to not do.  It’s satanic trickery on both hands – the gates of hell attempting to prevail against the True Church of Jesus Christ, and you all have been so accommodating.  (“Are You Really Not Under The Law”? at www.scarlet-to-snow.com/info2.html; and “The Unholy Days” at www.scarlet-to-snow.com/info3.htm.)

In the infancy of The Church, wherever the Believers in Jesus Christ went, their topic of conversation was of Jesus.

“They delighted to tell of His mighty miracles, of His holy life, of the extraordinary circumstances which accompanied His death, and of His resurrection and ascension.  Out of the fullness of their hearts they discoursed of His condescension and His meekness, of His wonderful wisdom, of His sublime theology, and of His unutterable love to a world lying in wickedness.  When they prayed, they prayed to Christ; when they sang, they sang to Christ; when they preached, they preached Christ.  Well then might the heathen multitude agree with one voice to call them Christians” (Ibid. p 57).

That is why we are Christians.  Why would one professing to believe Jesus as their Messiah want to be looked upon as a Messianic Jew because his or her Jewishness is more important than who he or she is in Christ?  Messianic Judaism is apostasy!  It’s schism!  Just to prove that they are still Jews and be accepted by those practicing Judaism, Messianic Judaism is no better than the Pharisees of Jesus’ day who were all about outward appearance.

“…hypocrites! For ye are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness….ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity” (Matthew 23:27-28).

In view of the fact that you have placed yourselves above being called Christians, you are denying Christ even though He prayed that all His people might be one.

Jesus prayed for unity/oneness in His Body – His Church – His Bride .  For the reason that He is immutable, why would He, after His death, say, “Oh, I changed my mind since Jewish Believers should maintain their Jewish heritage and identify.  They are going to have to stand apart from the non-Jews so that they are Completed Jews.”  No, Jesus didn’t say that.  He didn’t tell the Jews that in their walk with Him they must keep their Jewishness because when any of us walk with Him, we are new beings, meaning He and His ways are first and far most above traditions, rituals, and cultures.  It’s Jesus – not the “nesses”.   The “nesses” are outside The Church with the exceptions of, maybe, music and one’s native tongue.  (All music must be pure for God.)

Believers, the Bride of Christ – Jew or non-Jew, should be totally immersed in The Church of Jesus Christ.  There is no alternative and never has been that can label itself as being of God.  All in The Body of Christ should identify with Him, His Gospel, and let go of the rest.  As Believers in Jesus Christ, our historical identity is Jesus and His Gospel, and nothing else.  Not even Judaism.  It is far more important to remain a Believer in Christ – a Christian, than it is to remain a Jew, or anything else.  Messianic congregations are not God-made, but are man-made – by some “wanna-bes” – wanting to be special or a notch above other Christians.  The Messianic Jewish movement is not of God.

Jesus is “JESUS” and what difference does it make how He is seen (Jewish picture or non-Jewish picture).  What is utmost important is that you follow HIM, and Him alone, not your “ness,”  traditions, rituals, and cultures.

There is equity in following Jesus Christ.  Thank God, no one in Christianity is esteemed above another.  Jewish Believers are not esteemed above non-Jewish Believers.  Remember, Matthew 8 where Jesus marveled at the faith of the Roman centurion and He said …

“…many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.  But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness…” (Matthew 8:11-12).

The kingdom of heaven (www.scarlet-to-snow.com/info23.htm) is “now” for all who have faith, and for Jesus to say many from all over will “sit down” (in faith) with the patriarchal fathers of faith shows that no one group of Believers in Jesus is esteemed above another.  It’s about faith, and when one has complete faith in God, that one has true love for Him, which is all He wants from any and all of us.

It is not the intent of this Apostate Alert to discourage MJM from wanting to identify with the Hebrew people, but it is intended to discourage you from clinging to Judaism as a way of being identified as a Hebrew.  Go ahead, be involved in the Jewish community, if they will allow you to « support Israel, we all should « practice Saturday Sabbath, we all should « celebrate the yearly feast days, we all should « have your traditional Jewish weddings « have your Bar Mitzvahs « play your Jewish Music to The Lord with its unique sound.  Great!  Go ahead, do all of that.  But, when it comes to Messiah Jesus, your salvation and The Church, remember, The Church of Jesus Christ is a “new thing” and it’s not about Judaism and its rituals and it’s not about anyone’s culture.  Thus, leave out of The Church your …

There is no place for those things in The Church.  In The Church, that's Judaizing and that is sin and has no place in The Church, that is, unless you are not a Believer in Jesus as the Messiah.  The only rituals that should be in The Church are baptism and holy communion.

Dear Messianic Jewish Movement members, as Jesus told the young man who wanted to go bury his father before following Him, He is also saying to you …

“…Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead” (Matthew 8:22).

Judaism the religion is dead.  The Holy Spirit is not in it – God is not in those synagogues.  God’s final curtain call in the Jewish Temple was when the veil of the temple “rent in two” (Matthew 27:51), or don’t you believe that?  As Judaism is dead, let the dead practitioners of Judaism practice it.  Messianic Judaism that believes Jesus Christ is Messiah must bury the tenets of Judaism that they are holding on to and follow the real Jesus – Christianity that is so un-ritualistically simple.  The time is short and there is much work to be done.  There are too many souls on their way to hell while you’re limiting your witness to the less that 15 million Jewish people on this earth?  Please, as ONE, we’ve got a mighty big job to do before it’s entirely too dark to get the work done.

He wants you to let go of Judaism, forget about who sees you as a Jew or not, and do what He has called you to do in “one” with the TBASUCs.

If you love your Jewishness more than Jesus, you are not worthy of Him.
