Hush! Don't Say It's God's Judgment

Church Leaders Wilt Under Pressure
The way Americans live is no different than how Europeans, South Americans, or anyone else on this earth is living at this time. The whole world is living in sin, whether it be through practicing false religions, no religions, murder (abortion), sexual freedom, sexual perversion, etc. Here is what makes Americans different than the rest of the worldly sinners – THE GREAT MAJORITY OF THEM PROFESS CHRISTIANITY. This means that even though a large majority of them are pseudo-Christians, they still acknowledge that God is real, Jesus Christ is His Son, and they have knowledge of God’s moral code – His Word – the Bible. In that alone, they, Americans, have made themselves to be held accountable before God Almighty for their sins or rebelling against His Word. Therefore, because Americans acknowledge God’s existence, His Son Jesus, and they know right from wrong, much is required of them by God. It would be better for them if they didn’t know God, but it’s too late now.
Being that much is required of Americans, when they steadily progress down the broad road of destruction by leaving God and His moral ethics out of their lives, there is a price to be paid. Generally, the price to be paid is in the form of judgment: (1) God lifting the hedge of protection from around a person or a nation, and (2) Satan thus allowed to do whatsoever he proposes to do, but with God’s approval, first. Judgment allowed is a form of correction - to change the hearts of people to return to God and His holy ways.
The works of judgment come in the form of (1) the sword/war, (2) famine, and (3) pestilence, which is a demonstration of God arising in anger. And yet, even in His anger, He doesn’t shut up His tender mercies, and this is where the Church and her preachers, teachers, evangelist, and all Born Again Christians come in to minister to the lost and backslidden. At this point in time, these people in the Church, through whom God works, can’t fulfill their role because they are refusing to see God’s hand in the matter of the terrorist attacks upon the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. They are simply saying, “It’s not God’s judgment,” or “It’s Satan acting alone,” or “It’s evil people.” I hardly think so. The Church leadership is saying this instead of saying it’s judgment because they believe, as Dutch Sheets of Global Harvest Ministries cautioned the Church leaders to do
“…great caution should be exercised in using the word ‘judgment‘ to define these events…most biblical judgment is the inevitable, built-in consequence of sin, not the direct hand of God.’” (Charisma News Service on line, “Don’t Talk About Judgment, Leader Urges Preachers” by Andy Butcher. September 11, 2001).
In Dutch Sheets’ statement there was only one truth. True, those attacks were not the direct hand of God, but it most certainly was God who gave Satan the go-ahead to conduct the built-in consequence of sin - judgment. My dear Saints, judgment is the hand of God. Mr. Sheets was further quoted as giving the most incredible advise a Church leader could ever advise concerning using the word judgment…
“ …the world will probably not hear anything else we say” (Ibid.)
God forbid! Based on that statement, oh, how weak God has become in the eyes of Church leadership - He’s reduced to a weakling. Saints of God, that’s not the God of the Bible, and leaders calling for the watering down of the truth are not real “men of God.” This is just another example of apostasy in the Church of Jesus Christ, and yet they’re looking to be Raptured out of this world any minute before the Tribulation begins. What a joke!
A statement drafted by Bill Bright (founder of Campus Crusade for Christ) said that the terrorist attacks happened because of America’s sins but as The Charlotte Observer reported, Bright and his co-signers
“…stopped short of assigning blame for America’s moral decline” (The Charlotte Observer, “Coalition: Attacks Stem From Sin In U.S.” September 22, 2001).
Not calling America a nation in moral decline is on par with telling American that, “No, dear children, those terrorists attacks were not God’s judgment. It was just evil people coming against you because they’re jealous of your freedom.” What a sad day in the Church of Jesus Christ.
Bill Bright’s appeal to Americans to plead with God for forgiveness went out under the signatures of nationally known church leaders such as Pat Robertson (700 Club), Thomas Trask (Assemblies of God), James Dobson (Focus on the Family), Bill Hybels (Willow Creek Community Church), De. James Kennedy (Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church), and James Merritt (Southern Baptist Convention). It must be pointed out here that no one has to “plead with God for forgiveness,” but with a sincere heart, ask God for forgiveness. These are leaders in the Christian Church who are afraid to “call a spade a spade.” They are afraid to say point blank,
“America, you are in sin – moral decay and that‘s why you were attacked.”
“America, you were attacked because of your sins of abortion, adultery, divorce, homosexuality, irreverence for God by having laws on your books condoning what God is opposed to, greed, gluttony, lying, cheating, and a host of other things.”
These leaders fear people will be turned off from their churches, or the White House might call and state disapproval of the truth, so they deny the American people the truth to set them free.
Pat Robertson Betrayed Falwell
Pat Robertson, one of the signors of Bill Bright’s “Biblical Response to America’s National Emergency” likely signed on to this so as to distance himself from his friend Jerry Falwell, even after he claimed that he and other 700 Club hosts didn’t fully understand Falwell’s remarks. What did Robertson not understand about Falwell’s remarks? The traitor, Robertson, further stated that Falwell had
“unexpectedly, to everyone’s surprise…uttered a political statement of blame to certain segments of the population which was severe and harsh in tone, and frankly, not fully understood by the three hosts” (Charisma News Service on line, “Leaders Urge Christians To Repent In Light Of Terrorist Attacks” by Andy Butcher. September 18, 2001).
Associated Press reported Pat Robertson as having said, Falwell’s remarks on the 700 Club were severe and harsh in tone. Robertson also told Fox News that what Falwell had said was inappropriate. Imagine that, to say that the attacks on America was judgment is inappropriate! Dear Saints of God, the Lord’s heart bleeds. His heart is bleeding because “truth,” which is His Word, is considered severe and harsh by those who call themselves children of God - the Church leaders.
It Was The Devil - It Wasn’t The Devil
Dear Saints of God, the September 11th terror in America was not because
evil people that hate America just wanted to hurt
America; nor was it
the Devil just choosing to come against America.
It was because of America’s sin that God allowed America’s enemies to come against her when he pulled away the hedge of protection thus giving the Devil/Satan permission to operate through his evil vessels against America. Face it, THERE IS PAY BACK FOR SIN and God’s grace does not cover that. God delivered America into the hands of Al-Quaeda - bin Laden and fundamentalist Islam, a few of America's many enemies. God did so because, as Jerry Falwell said, but later apologized for having said so after being “slapped on the wrist” by church leaders and the White House…
“I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America, I point the finger in their face and say, ‘You helped this happen.’” (San Francisco Chronicle online, “Televangelist, Fundamentalists Believe Their Strict Morality Is The Only Answer,” September 23, 2001.)
Falwell was also quoted in that same article as having said…
“What we saw on Tuesday, as terrible as it is, could be minuscule if, in fact, God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve” (Ibid).
Church, Jerry Falwell told it exactly like it was except that he left out the greed, gluttony, adultery, divorce, and much, much more. Judgment has come to America for her sins.
But Why Did Falwell Apologize For Telling The Truth
On September 17th, Jerry Falwell apologized for having spoken the truth based on God’s Word because it was a turn-off to getting people back into the churches. He apologized because (1) he didn’t want to offend Americans by telling them that they were under judgment; (2) he didn’t want to lose favor in the eyes of President George Bush; and (3) he wants to be liked by everybody. So, he apologized - just never mind God and what His Word says.

Charisma News Service, “Leaders Urge Christians To Repent In Light Of Terrorist Attacks” by Andy Butcher, September 18, 2001. |
“Falwell himself said yesterday that he deeply regretted the remarks. ‘I obviously did not state my theological convictions very well, and I stated them at a bad time.’ He said he blamed ‘no one but the hijackers and terrorists for the barbaric happenings.’ The coming weeks would provide time for a ‘worthy discussion’ about God’s judgment, ‘but it is a complicated discussion.” |
Falwell stated his theological convictions very well, but just lost his courage when the country came down hard on him. To blame the hijackers and terrorist was a lie right out of hell. This man is right when he says he’s a sinner. He’s a sinner!!!! He turned his back on God and the sinners in America who need salvation. Inexcusable!

Associated Press (Star Tribune), “Falwell Apologizes For Remarks,” September 18, 2001. |
“’In the midst of the shock and mourning of a dark week for America, I made a statement that I should not have made and which I sincerely regret,’ Falwell said.” “He added: ‘I want to apologize to every American, including those I named.’” “’When I talked about God lifting the curtain of protection on our nation, I should have made it very clear that no one on this earth knows whether or not that occurred or did not occur,’ he said.” |
Jerry Falwell is truly a coward. He even apologized to the ACLU of all people.
|
New York Times online, “Falwell Apologizes For Saying An Angry God Allowed Attacks” by Gustav Niebuhr, September 18, 2001. |
“’I am saying that no human being has the knowledge that any act is an act of God’s judgment and any person is responsible for God’s judgment,’ he said. If the terrorist attacks did reflect God’s judgment, he said, then ‘that judgment is on all of America - including me and all fellow sinners.’” |
For Falwell to say that no one knows when God has removed His hedge of protection from around a person or a nation, is to say that God’s Word, that the Saints hold dear to their hearts, is not a guiding light to them. True Saints of God know that anytime bad things happen to anyone or a nation, God’s hedge has been removed, for one reason or another, otherwise the enemy can’t penetrate. My Lord! Who in their right mind is going to Thomas Road Baptist Church to hear this man preach? Surely, real Saints of God don’t attend.
The only part of Falwell’s apology that was correct was, “he is a sinner.” He is a sinner because he has abandoned God’s truth so not to offend human beings. Yes, Falwell is a sinner and it’s obvious because he doesn’t have the Holy Ghost dwelling within him. The Holy Ghost does not make his abode in the lives of sinners. In Falwell’s case, Jesus died for nothing since Falwell says he’s still a sinner. Lord, help his poor soul, and those that sit under his ministry.
What Some Others Said Publicly
Francis Frangipane: “Respected charismatic speaker and writer, said that while some would see the week’s events as ‘the wrath of God released against our nation,’ he did not believe they were the judgment of God, but ‘the attack of the enemy because of our stand with Israel.’” (Charisma News Service, “Don’t Talk, About ‘Judgment,’ Leader Urges Preachers,” by Andy Butcher, September 14, 2001.)
Cal Thomas: “God would have spared ancient cities of Sodom and Gomorrah from judgment for only 10 righteous men (Genesis 18:32). Do those who believe the terrorist attacks were the judgment of God think there were fewer than 10 righteous people in New York City and at the Pentagon when those planes struck”? (“The Judgment of God” by Cal Thomas, Syndicated Columnist, September 19, 2001.)
Abraham said to The Lord…
“That be far from thee…to slay the righteous with the wicked…Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right”? (Genesis 18:25).
After that, The Lord assured Abraham that if there were 50 righteous people right on down to even 10 righteous in Sodom and Gomorrah, He would not destroy those cities for the sake of as few as the 10 righteous ones. No, God does not destroy the righteous with the wicked, which brings one to believe that, as God brought out Lot and his family before the destruction of those twin cities, He brought out of the World Trade Center’s twin towers in New York, not necessarily righteous people (many of them were not), but He brought out those who are Saints and others of whom He is wanting to do a work in their lives as vessels of honor to bring Him glory.
As Bible-believing people, we have to know that we don’t know how much God may have been convicting the hearts of those 5,000 people to repent of some sin in their life and turn to Him. We don’t know that, but only God and those who went to their graves with it in their hearts.
We do know, however, that those September 11th terrorist acts were not “The Tribulation” period spoken of in Revelation and Daniel when innocent Born Again Christians get slaughtered. We can, however, safely say, “it was God’s judgment” upon America, with more to come in more ways than any American can imagine.
Reverend Jose I. Somoza: This Catholic Priest “…told worshipers that one parishioner had demanded to know why God permitted last week’s horrific attacks. ‘My response was, ‘Who told you God permitted this? Who told you God authorized the terrorists to do this? Who told you God is part of this barbarity? The first one who doesn’t want these things to happen is God,’ Somoza said.” (Washington Post.com, “No time For Hatred, Clergy Warn” by Caryle Murphy, September 17, 2001).
Steve Shultz: Prophetic ministry leader “…urges Christians to pray for forgiveness and ask God to ‘restore your favor to this land and restore your protection on this which is called one nation under God.’” (Charisma News Service, “Repentance Urged As Bio-Terrorism Defense” by Andy Butcher, October 29, 2001.)
Paul Crouch: TBN President said, “God did not cause this as judgment upon New York City.” He stated emphatically that “God did not cause it to happen because there are many good Christians in New York and Washington.” (Trinity Broadcasting Network, “Behind The Scenes” with Paul Crouch, September 17, 2001.)
Did The Righteous Really Die In Those Terrorists Attacks?
There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish (Luke 13:1-5).
Jesus was not saying that those Galilaeans that died were not sinners. The point He was trying to get across when He asked the question “if they thought those that died were in more sin than the rest of the people” was that, “they were in sin but their sins were no more graver than the rest of the whole of Israel that was in sin at that time.” Jesus was not saying those dead people whose blood was used in Pilate’s sacrifice and the 18 that the tower of Siloam fell on and killed, were innocent people. They were not innocent but were sinners like the rest of backslidden Israel, and were an example of God’s judgment having begun; so repent of your sins or else find yourself in that same predicament. Remember, judgment continued in Israel as their cities were destroyed, their temple destroyed, and they were sent into Diaspora.
As it was then in Israel amongst the Galilaeans and those that the Tower of Siloam killed, it is for the United States of America today - a foretaste of what else is to come in way of judgment for sin in the land. These preambles to full-fledged judgment, World Trade Center and the Pentagon, are to bring the people to repent of their sins before The Lord, and return unto Him. However, in the case of the Churches in America where the people went in droves after the terrorist attacks, they were not spiritually equipped to receive the people and guide them in the “True Christian” experience because of church apostasy.
There are two identifying tenets that lets one know how spiritually ill-equipped the churches in America are:
Church leaders were screaming, “don’t talk about God’s
judgment” to people; and
They were establishing respect and brotherhood with the Islamic faith - a false religion.
Why not talk about God’s judgment having begun upon America? It is judgment, isn’t it? You bet it is. Judgment is coming to this modern-day church leadership as well.
Conclusion
Face the fact that God is in absolute control of absolutely everything. Face the fact that there is nothing going on anywhere in the universe that He is not cognizant of because of His omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence.
“…A man can receive nothing except it be given him from heaven” (John 3:27).
Nothing means nothing, and anything that comes man’s way, be it blessings or cursing (judgment), the “go-ahead” for both good or bad toward a person (or a nation) comes from God in Heaven. Satan cannot inflict his evil without God’s okay. God is in control of absolutely everything. Having said that,
“…every man’s judgment cometh from the Lord” (Proverbs 29:26)
and America’s judgment was handed down by God Himself. It is God who brings every work of mankind into judgment (Ecclesiastes 12:14), and these works are both good and bad, and America is guilty of many, many horribly bad works. It was God’s decision and not Al-Qaeda’s decision to hand down sentence to this sinful nation, America. The basis for America’s judgment is, not was, but is God’s righteousness. God judges according to His righteousness and being that America’s sins are unrighteous, it’s necessary that she be judged by Him. Without a spiritual doubt, God has commanded judgment upon this nation.
We are to keep the Scripture in mind that clearly defines the purpose of judgment:
“…for when thy [God’s] judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness” (Isaiah 26:9).
God wants the world, not just America, to repent of her sins and to turn to Him. He loves the world so much that He gave His only begotten Son so that they might be saved (John 3:16). No, it’s not just America that God loves, but it is the world and the world should learn from what has happened to America.
Those who died were not innocent victims and nor were they godly people since the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Thank God for the New Covenant.) There was no excuse for them not being godly people because God liberally gives salvation and His Holy Spirit to them that want them both.
Dutch Sheets, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, and others like them, are
spiritual tumbleweeds. They have broken away from the roots of Christ’s
teachings and they are blown about by the winds of apostasy. Jerry Falwell and
Pat Robertson are the most despicable of all pseudo-Christian leaders in these
United States of America and should step down as leaders in the Church of Jesus
Christ because they are misguiding the Sheep.
